Southern Classic Bike Show - 21st May 2016
The Southern Classic Bike Show at Kempton Park produced a great display of quality classic bikes again this year. A lot of hard work was put in by the clubs some of their stands were amazingly decorated and littered with great bikes and there were again, a very high standard of cafe racers and private bike entries. In particular the Douglas Club, winners of the best club stand award, put a lot of effort into their shop front style display.
Outside the weather held out again for the Jumble which was packed with bikes for sale and there were many happy buyers leaving with their arms full of goods. Another busy day with many of members of the public coming through the gates making their way around the stalls looking for the bikes or parts they wanted.
Inside the show hall there were numerous Motorcycle Club Stands displaying a selection of their members Motorcycles - many commenting about the high level of interest shown about their clubs from the public. Thanks to everyone who attended.
Dave Degens of Dresda, a former racer who with his Triton won the Barcelona 24hr Race at Monjuic Park in 1965 and for the second time in 1970, was judging and presenting prizes along with Mike Jackson, a former successful trials rider himself and president of the Norton Owners Club. Both were keen to say how this show had a wide range of exciting motors on show.
