Southern Classic Bike Show - 25th May 2013

This years Southern Classic Bike Show went ahead on Saturday 25th May 2013 on a long awaited bright and sunny day. Our large AutoJumble was buzzing as usual and we were pleased that some very interesting, and superbly restored Classic Bikes turned up for the public to view.

There were also 28 Motorcycle Club Stands display a selection of their members Motorcycles and a large turn out of Cafe Racers which formed part of Ace Cafe London's " Cafe Racer Corner".

Another crowd puller was John Renwick's latest Vincent powered sidecar streamliner. At its first outing at the BUB meeting at Bonneville Salt Flats at the end of August 2011, driven by Damien Cahill, the flying mile was covered at an average speed of 188.9mph.

With such a superb turn out of bikes judging was not easy.

Dave Degens of Dresda, a former racer who with his Triton won the Barcelona 24hr Race at Monjuic Park in 1965 and for the second time in 1970, was judging and presenting prizes along with Mike Jackson, a former successful trials rider himself and president of the Norton Owners Club, and Mark Wilsmore of Ace Cafe London who was judging and presenting the "Ace Cafe London Award".

Southern Classic Bike Show Winners 2013

The show stealer and 'Best in Show' winner was a beautiful bike entered by Ralph Avis, a Rickman Metisse Triumph Twin 1973 750cc which he told us he had finished just the day before the show.

About the Southern Classic Bike Show at Kempton

The Southern Classic Bike Show has been running for almost 26 years now and has been well attended by at least 26 Clubs Stands and 30 private entries every year. There are bikes from every era from 1915 - 1990 on show. All the motorcycle owners and clubs put in a huge effort into their bikes displays which is very much appreciated.

The show is a great advertisement for the clubs and a chance for private owners to show off their classic machines. Prizes are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Club Stands and Best in Show. Every entrant receives a commemorative mug or medal.

Running alongside the show is our large AutoJumble which is regularly attended by 250+ stalls selling motorcycle related items including complete motorcycles, spares, parts, magazines, clothing and memorabilia. We also have a Bike Mart which is always very popular. Bring your Bike along from 9am to sell on the day. The Gates open to the general public at 9:30am.

To keep up-to-date with all the Southern Classic Bike Show's and Jumbles click here for calendar of events.

Kempton has plenty of parking, toilets and refreshment facilities. It is easy to find from the M25 and has its own railway station. It is conveniently located for London and the Home Counties although visitors and customers often travel much further from other parts of Europe.

Why not enter a bike or rent a stall for your clearouts? We have a booking form with prices, terms and conditions.
